Sinus Lifting.

It's possible that the density and volume of the bone in the back of the upper jaw are insufficient. As a result, upper jaw dental implants are avoided. An procedure to remedy this condition is called sinus lifting.

Sinüs Lifting - Summary

When replacing missing teeth, the amount of bone in the upper jaw's posterior region plays a crucial role. It's possible that the density and volume of the bone here are insufficient. Dental implants cannot be constructed in the upper jaw due to these issues. An procedure to remedy this condition is called sinus lifting.

Sinus Lifting

Teeth play a significant role in our daily lives. Among the most noticeable and eye-catching human organs are the teeth and gums. When smiling, sobbing, conversing, or doing any other action, the teeth and gums are prominent. Even though there are numerous procedures used for teeth, gums, and jawbones, sinus lifting surgery is a crucial process that is little-known and calls for tact and knowledge.

Sinus lift-lift is the name of the procedure for lifting the sinuses. It is one of the surgical techniques. When compared to procedures like laminated coating, zirconium coating, root canal therapy, and tooth whitening, it is one of the operations with various sensitivity. One of the necessary operations for those who wish to get an implant but don't have adequate bone in the posterior portion of the upper jaw is a sinus raising operation. The dentist will decide on this. Additionally, an examination following 3D imaging is planned (Dental Volumetric Tomography).

As is common knowledge, dental implants are created when a tooth is missing. It is anticipated that the titanium dental implant, which is inserted in the jawbone's root area, will fuse with the bone. The coating that results from this fusion is then screwed onto the dental implant. Bulk implant methods like All on 4 and All on 6 are also available. If neither the lower jaw nor the upper jaw has any teeth left, these procedures are suggested.

If necessary, sinus lift (sinus lift) can be done during these procedures. In other words, there are a variety of circumstances in which the sinus lift operation can be carried out. This interval is reported by the doctor following the operation and may be a little longer than in cases where direct dental implants are administered.

Why is a sinus lifting procedure done?

When replacing missing teeth, the amount of bone in the upper jaw's posterior region plays a crucial role. It's possible that the density and volume of the bone here are insufficient. Dental implants cannot be constructed in the upper jaw due to these issues. An procedure to remedy this condition is called sinus lifting.

Open sinus lifting is done in order to get the hard tissue to the right conditions, and sinus lifting is finished using materials like graft (bone powder), membrane (bone cover), and PRF (Platelet Rich Fibrin). The dental implant is also inserted during the treatment, if the doctor determines it is appropriate. One surgical procedure is sinus lifting, sometimes known as sinus lifting. It is done to make the discovered bone stronger and to make sure that the necessary bone will form in the empty space. This method aims to create bone so the dental implant can cling to it. The dental implant is fused if the necessary volume and density are generated.

Doctors with the necessary training and experience carry out sinus lifting operations. This technique is quite delicate. Because of this, specialized hand tools and burs are employed while approaching from a very tiny space. This allows the sinus membrane to be raised over the bone and moved the necessary distance without suffering any damage.

How Many Different Sinus Lifting Operations Are There?

There are two techniques to perform a sinus lift or sinus operation: a closed sinus lift and an open sinus lift. The healing time for an open sinus lifting operation is lengthier than it is for a closed lifting operation.

Lifting the Closed Sinus

When there is visible bone of 5 millimeters or more, the closed sinus lifting procedure is the preferable approach. Even though a bone is sometimes necessary for a closed lift, the doctor may decide that an open sinus lift procedure is necessary in some circumstances.

It is a surgical procedure that is carried out under local anesthetic. Osteotomes are devices used to raise the sinus area's floor.

Since technology and medical technologies have advanced, it is now possible to execute a closed sinus lifting procedure on bones that are 2-3 millimeters thick if certain requirements are met. If necessary, bone powder is applied in this region after shattering the base and lifting the sinus section. The recuperation period is substantially shorter as a result of this surgery. In actuality, the implant process is typically done concurrently.

Opening the Sinuses

It is formed by making a little incision in the alveolar bone, which is located behind the upper jaw and corresponds to the sinus wall.

Under local anesthetic, the operation is painless. Through the window that has been opened, the sinus membrane is removed. The necessary materials, such as graft (bone powder), membrane (bone cover), and PRF are placed in order to ensure that the sinus membrane, which has been removed sufficiently, remains at that location. If the conditions are suitable, the dental implant is then placed, and the operation area is closed.

A closed sinus lifting procedure recovers faster than an open one. There is a minimum 5-month waiting time. Because a large amount of newly created bone or the bone surrounding the implant in this process is new, the required period of time must pass before it reaches an acceptable density.

How is the Sinus Lifting Procedure Carried Out?

The procedure of sinus lifting or sinus lifting surgery is typically carried out under local anaesthetic. Local anesthetic is administered to the area where the procedure will be conducted before the operation starts. A little incision is made in the sinus area with the aid of the required surgical tools so that the sinus membrane can be accessed.

The required components are positioned once the sinus membrane reaches the desired height. In the region where the opening is made, graft (bone powder), membrane (bone cover), PRF placement, and, if necessary, dental implant application are done. This is done in an effort to build bone where there is a gap.

How Long Should I Wait Following a Sinus Lifting Procedure Before Having an Implant Procedure?

Dental implants can sometimes be created right away during the sinus lift procedure, although it's not always doable. A minimum of five months must elapse after the primary operation in this location to allow for healing and development. This time frame could last up to six or seven months, depending on the circumstances.

The sinus lifting procedure must also be successfully finished in order to create the dental implant. Success in creating the desired bone structure is more crucial than success during the procedure.

Despite being uncommon, some individuals may not have the necessary level of new bone development for a variety of reasons. Achieving the proper bone density and making sure the implant fuses together are the key points in this situation. The likelihood of simultaneously implanting is significantly higher during a closed sinus lifting procedure.
