The first things a person recovering from surgery should remember;
- not to brush or floss in the area where the surgery was performed.
- Use the mouthwash that the periodontist recommended.
- Avoid performing strenuous exercises.
- Eat soft foods instead of hard ones.
- Foods that are soft, chilly, and warm should be ingested.
- Use of tobacco should be avoided.
Everybody experiences pain and suffering differently after surgery. The patient can experience less discomfort if the gingival expert employs a tissue from the tissue bank.
Normal recovery is quick. The tissue recovers and the stitches are removed in about a week. This recuperation time may be extended in some people. The transferred tissue needs six to eight weeks to completely meld with the tissue in the recipient location.
The teeth in this area may become more sensitive after the procedure, but this sensitivity will subside as the healing process takes place.
The day following surgery, you are free to go to work or school.
The periodontist will schedule a control appointment to visit the surgical site one week after the procedure. At this appointment, he may remove part of the stitches if he feels it is appropriate.
