Seamless Implant

Depending on the bone structure of the person, sometimes with closed surgical methods, implants can be applied without the use of sutures. For this procedure, it starts with tomography (3-dimensional imaging) of the patient's jawbone and taking an intraoral measurement. It requires a very long planning and production process compared to the operation. Because it is a more sensitive system.

How to Make a Seamless Implant

For guided surgery, which is popularly called seamless implant, first of all, it is necessary to take a 3-dimensional image of the patient's jawbone. Afterwards, the impressions taken from the mouth and the tomography image are matched, and operational data such as implant positions, diameters and lengths are determined according to the mouth and, if any, adjacent teeth of the person in the digital environment. After the treatment plan is made, the guide plates according to this plan are produced by means of a 3D printer or scraper. Implant locations are adjusted on the guide during production at the planned areas, at the planned angles

This guide determines which implant will be placed where and at what angle during the operation. Which brand of implant will be made into the gaps showing the implant locations on the produced guide, the so-called " sleeve " rings of that company are attached and disinfected and prepared for the surgical procedure.

Operasyon

After local anesthesia is done before the surgical operation, the guide is placed in the mouth according to the guide points and fixed if possible. During the procedure, small holes are drilled through the holes left on the guide to the areas where the implant will be placed, without making an incision on the gingiva with a scalpel. The bone is accessed through these holes, the necessary abrasions are made, the implant socket is prepared and the implant is placed. Finally, if sufficient torque values are obtained, the operation is completed to make temporary teeth. Since the design of the prosthesis is usually done while the surgical guide is being prepared, not much time is lost for the production of the temporary prosthesis after the operation. Usually, temporary teeth can be placed in 1-7 days.

Avantajları

  • In some cases requiring advanced surgery, it can facilitate the operation and enable implant placement.
  • The healing process is faster.
  • More predictable results can be obtained as implant positions can be determined in advance and digitally simulated.
  • Bleeding, swelling and pain are usually less after surgery.
  • It provides a much faster operation.

Disadvantages

  • It cannot be applied in all cases.
  • It is a more costly procedure than the normal surgical method.
  • In some cases, if the physician notices a suspicious situation, he can continue the operation by removing the guide and performing open surgery
